Visual Content Editing of a System Snippet

For a provided system snippet, you can safely modify designated text fields and supported images.

What you will learn

  • Open the visual mode of a system snippet.
  • Modify only text fields designated by the snippet author.
  • Replace a supported image via the Image Bank.
  • Recognize fixed elements that this mode does not alter.

What visual mode allows

This mode is available for system snippets provided by the application. By clicking, you can select text that is explicitly designated as a user field and choose Edit text. For supported images, you can open the replacement option via the Image Bank.

Not all visible text is necessarily editable. Availability is determined by the definition of the specific snippet, not merely by the appearance of the element on the canvas.

Step-by-step workflow

  1. Insert a system snippet into a position.
  2. Open its actions menu and launch Visual mode by clicking the six-squares icon.
  3. Click on a designated text field and select Edit text.
  4. Type or paste plain text. HTML tags are updated according to the chosen tools.
  5. For supported images, replace them via the Image Bank and verify an appropriate preview.
  6. Close the mode, check a clean Preview, and wait for confirmation of automatic saving.

When a field does not respond

First, verify that it is indeed a system snippet and that you have launched its Visual mode. If the Edit text action does not appear, that specific part is not designated as editable in the definition. This is not a selection error; the structure is intentionally protected.

Custom snippets and blank Custom HTML modules do not automatically receive this special mode. For their content, use standard inline editing or the safe Edit code dialog.
